People might long for the Golden Age of Hollywood but downtown LA, on the other hand, only gets better with age. Once a rough and nearly forgotten sector of a city so active and changing, Downtown has now surpassed much of the greater Los Angeles area in terms of creativity, diversity, and innovation.

On our Discover DTLA tour, we’ll show you our favorite can’t-miss downtown LA spots, including some well-known attractions but also alternative, up and coming pockets of the city. We’ll spend some time in the Arts District, taking in the colorful sights of alleyway street art and hip boutiques, bars, and coffee shops that have sprouted up in recent years.

To give you an idea of the amazing diversity enjoyed by DTLA, we’ll bike over to Little Tokyo, where we’ll witness some Japanese architecture and hear a bit about the Japanese American experience. Ethnic diversity is an integral part of Downtown Los Angeles culture, and we’re proud to share the rich backstory of how this has informed DTLA’s growth and personality.

On the day of your tour, we’ll leave it up to your tour group to decide on our additional stop. Depending on your interests, we can visit a boutique handmade bicycle accessory shop or a bicycle-churned ice cream shop!

Would you rather spend a little more time in the Arts District and a little less time at historic sites? Would you prefer to go to Chinatown instead of Little Tokyo? Tell your guide! On the day of your tour, your guide will have a quick briefing with your tour group in order to gauge your interests. Since all of our guides know LA like the back of their hand, they’re more than happy to adjust the tour slightly to suit your interests. If you’re looking for a completely custom experience, check out our private tours!

Though we may stop at an ice cream shop, the Discover DTLA tour does not include any food or drink. All ice cream consumed on the tour is at your own cost.

Please be aware that this tour takes place in downtown Los Angeles, so comfortability with biking on city streets, with or without bike lanes, is a must! Your guide will keep to the least busy streets when possible and will always ensure that there is a safe route for the tour to follow, but your confidence and cautiousness as a bike rider will help make this tour a purely positive experience.
